The Doctoral School of Literary Studies offers a number of 4-year programmes for international students, including Comparative Literature, English and American Literature, French Literature, German Literature, Italian Literature, Russian Literature, Classical Philology, and Neo-Latin Literature. These programmes combine the history and theories of literature with relevant artistic and medial examples, as well as social and cultural perspectives. Except forspecific national programmes (in French, German, Russian, and Italian literature), all programmes are in English. Students participate in workshop seminars, acquire professional skills in analysis and composition, and receive individual guidance throughou their research work, up until the completion of their dissertations.

Applicants register via the online application system. The entrance exam will be conducted in person, at a venue belonging to the Faculty of Arts OR at a venue previously designated by the Faculty of Arts in the applicant’s place of residence OR through a Skype interview. Identification of the applicant happens on the basis of personal documents. The entrance exam consists of an interview of motivation.
