The aim of MA in Conducting course is to train conductors who, with the appropriate musical training, are able to serve and disseminate universal and Hungarian musical culture, especially in the field of orchestral culture. The wind band conducting specialisation focuses primarily on symphonic band and wind ensemble repertoire and its practical application, developing the skills, theoretical and practical knowledge essential for the artistic direction of different types of wind orchestras, based on knowledge of the various genres of classical and contemporary music.
Wind band conductors are able to apply their highly developed communication and instrumental skills to the rehearsal and performance of works composed or arranged for symphonic bands, wind symphonies and ensembles, both with professional orchestras and with amateur movement ensembles. The Orchestra Conductor specialization programme is supported by professional and amateur wind bands, which, as partners of Széchenyi University, provide practical training for our wind band conductor students.
