The MA program in Sociology at the University of Pécs, Department of Sociology offers students the opportunity to address social, demographic and policy issues from an applied research perspective. We focus on providing students up-to-date courses on social theories and social problems which serve as the basis for planning and conducting empirical research, utilizing quantitative and/or qualitative data from multiple sources. The goal of the program is to train experts who possess skills to address social problems and opportunities, excel in data analytics, and can visualize and communicate research results for various audiences. The applied knowledge our students gain is sought after by employers in multiple domains and is key to contemporary academic research.
The applicant has to submit the following documents by uploading them to the online application portal of the scholarship: Certified and translated (if originals are not in English) copy of transcripts showing satisfactory completion of BA degree, BA degree certificate, CV in English, Motivation letter (introduction plus field of interest, etc.) in 3000 to 3500 characters, Copy of valid passport, Medical certificate, Official copy of the following language exam certificates: Acceptable online language exams: Duolingo online exam from score 110, IELTS Indicator from score 5.5, Official copy of the following language exam certificates: TOEFL (iBT internet-based): 66 points (www.ets.org/toefl), IELTS: Overall Band Score: 5.5 (www.ielts.org), Cambridge ESOL: B2 level (www.cambridgeenglish.org), TELC: B2 level (https://www.telc.net/en.html), ECL: B2 level (http://www.ecl-test.com/). You do not have to submit an official English test result if one of the following criteria applies to you: you have completed your undergraduate studies in the English language (please, upload an official proficiency certificate issued by your previous university).
