Das Programm bietet Studierenden Kurse zur deutschen Sprache, Literatur und Kultur. Somit werden die Studierenden bewandt in den Kernbereichen der Germanistik. In der Fachrichtung „Deutsch als Minderheitensprache“ werden ferner Kurse über die deutschsprachige Minderheit in Ungarn angeboten. Die Studierenden erwerben Sprachkenntnisse auf dem Niveau C1, was ihnen sowohl zahlreiche Berufsperspektiven als auch Weiterbildungsmöglichkeiten in einem MA-Programm in ganz Europa ermöglicht.
