The German-language Master's programme in Central European Studies - Cultural Diplomacy offers students with a bachelor's degree a specialized education focused on the Central European region. The programme's areas of emphasis include cultural studies, history, foreign policy, and international law.
In addition to the traditional field of diplomacy, students are also prepared for careers in academia, media, non-governmental organizations, cultural diplomacy (e.g., cultural institutes), and cultural management.
Through a mandatory internship at a cultural diplomacy institution in the 3rd semester, closely integrated with the curriculum, and the resulting thesis, graduates are optimally prepared for their future careers.
The programme aims to train professionals with cultural sensitivity and conceptual thinking, who are taught about the cultural characteristics of Central Europe, the role and significance of minority issues and nation-building, as well as the phenomena and features of multiculturalism through both coursework and the internship.

General admission requirements: Very good knowledge of written and spoken German, knowledge of English, a successful entrance examination. Special admission requirements for the M.A. in Central European Studies - Cultural Diplomacy: A completed Bachelor's degree in the field of humanities subjects or have earned 30 credit points in history-related subjects or in the fields of philosophy, aesthetics, economics and social sciences, international studies, political science, romology and communication. Further prerequisites are excellent knowledge of the political, economic and cultural conditions in Europe as well as excellent knowledge of the history and culture of the Central European region.

The entrance examination for the M.A. in Central European Studies - Cultural Diplomacy consists of a written and an oral part. An essay must be submitted as the written entrance examination. The focus of the oral interview is on the convincing presentation of the applicant\'s motivation and long-term goals. The committee tests both the applicants\' argumentative skills and their knowledge of current topics in Central European culture and history (approx. 30 minutes).
