The programme is aimed at producing specialists who exhibit high levels of language proficiency and skills in the application of the language based on the acquired theoretical, methodological and practical knowledge. They are familiar with the literatures, cultures, social and political systems, and histories of English-speaking countries (among others: Great Britain, Ireland, and Canada). Graduates are also acquainted with the fundamental modern theories, major contemporary trends and research areas in theoretical and applied linguistics, with special focus on the English language. They are capable of applying acquired knowledge in the business and media spheres, in education, publishing, diplomacy, at international relations institutions and project application bureaus, in tourism, at local, regional and national self-government offices and cultural life in general. Their qualifications will enable them to continue their studies to PhD level.
