The program aims to train engineers who, with their knowledge of basic sciences dealing with the structure, properties and behaviour of technical materials, can design and operate the production, shaping and processing technologies of these materials to an advanced technological standard. Based on their knowledge these engineers can develop, operate, organize, and manage manufacturing, forming, and processing technologies, they can conduct and coordinate research and development and continue their studies at the postgraduate (PhD) level.
