Hantos Elemér Doctoral School (HEDS) operates as part of the Faculty of Economics, University of Miskolc, Hungary. Our fully-accredited doctoral program aims to prepare students who are interested in social sciences to conduct high-quality research in management and organizational sciences, or regional sciences. One of the distinctive features of our Doctoral School is that we offer a doctoral program not only in Management and Organizational Sciences, but also in Regional Sciences. The doctoral school is a member of the European Doctoral Programs Association in Management and Business Administration (EDAMBA), which gives the HEDS the opportunity for international cooperation. The main areas of current research: Marketing Schools and Applications, Management, Finance and Accounting, Business Administration, Regionalism, Spatial Theory, Space and Economics.

Ph.D. applicants must choose from the list of PhD thesis topics currently posted on doktori.hu (https://doktori.hu/index.php?menuid=116&lang= EN &num=37). Ph.D. applicants must have an Acceptance Letter from the supervisor of the chosen topic, which is a prerequisite for their admission. A score of 100 can be obtained in the entrance examination. The minimum score for admission is 60 points. The following areas will be assessed during the admission procedure:- knowledge of the chosen field (official transcript and entrance examination): max. 35 points,- aptitude for research work (research plan, entrance examination): max. 35 points- language skills (language transcript, language skills during the entrance examination): max. 20 points, - previous scientific work, publications and other scientific activities: max. 10 points. A research plan must be submitted in the following structure:- importance of the research field to be analyzed, formulation of the research problem- literature review (national and international)- identification of research gaps, formulation of research questions and hypotheses, expected results- time schedule of the research (Gantt chart), -signature of the supervisor on the research plan.
