The Central European Studies study programme gives complex knowledge about the history of people in the Central Europen area, their political systems, cultures, religions, literature, interethnic connections, economics and gives a deep insight to the related historical and current issues. The program consists of three different elements: introductory courses, core courses and specializations as optional courses. The program includes theoretical and practical courses as well. Every academic year a Central European (Polish, Czech, Slovakian etc.) guest lecture introduce the political structure of his own country. Students have the possibility to learn Central European languages. Experts in Central European Studies are well-informed in complex social studies. The program is recommended to students who deal with any field of social sciences, want to work at public and/or political institutions, or at the media etc. Knowledge about Europe is unimaginable without this special region of the continent.

Oral examination to reveal the motivation and the preliminary training of the applicant. The maximum score is 100 points: 0-40 points for the applicant\'s knowledge, 0-40 points for the knowledge of the specialized literature (in English) about the countries and nations of Central Europe, 0-20 points for the motivation and interest, commitment, later plans. The oral conversation is done through skype, facebook or e-mail. The decision about the admission is done by the admission committee of the faculty, based on the entrance exam score and the written documentation handed in by the applicant. The committee consists of ten members, chose by the council of the faculty, its president is the dean, the members are the lecturers of the institutions of the Faculty of Arts, and the representative of the Student Union of the Faculty.
