Earth Sciences Master of Science (MSc) studies can be joined at the Faculty of Science of University of Pécs. The courses are open from September, each year, and are continued during a 4-semester cycle. The education is followed in English. The students who have studied natural sciences (chemistry, physics, biology etc.) and Earth sciences (mineralogy, petrology, paleontology, historical geology etc.) in undergraduate level (BSc) will complete their knowledge at Master of Science level. The subjects of the Earth Sciences MSc studies include different type of applied research methods geophysics, geochemistry, instrumentation and analysis etc.) and modelling (hydrogeology, geological processes etc.). The education is also composed theoretical subjects (sedimentology, regional geology etc.) and field practice (environmental geology, geological mapping). The students in the fourth semester prepare a diploma-work, which will be defended. After passing a general exam they get degree as Earth scientist.

Making a 100-point ranking out of the admission requirements. 50 point could be given for the basic previous academic achievement and the other 50 point could be reached for the oral entrance exam.
