The German-language LL.M. programme in Comparative Law is based on a three-pillar model in terms of content:
First, it aims to provide in-depth knowledge of European law in its full breadth while also introducing important areas of international law.
Second, students are introduced to other legal systems through comparative law, with a focus on the accession region and the implementation of EU legal requirements.
Third, the programme is interdisciplinary, combining legal studies with political science analysis of the increasing political and legal integration of EU member states. Participants also have the opportunity to set a personal focus on cultural, historical, or economic studies.
It is a legal qualification with a strong emphasis on European law.
