Designers today face a paradox. Global challenges have made our world increasingly unpredictable. As a result, grim futures often feel like the new norm. Yet designers still carry both the responsibility — and the courage — to imagine alternative futures.
This master’s programme equips you to do both: to design products and services that succeed in the market, and to critically explore how design can shape better, more hopeful futures. By combining rigorous professional training, it prepares graduates to thrive internationally and to influence how technology is woven into daily life.
Building on more than a decade of interaction design education and research at MOME, the English-language IxD MA launched in 2021 to train designers who combine professional mastery with critical reflection on technology’s role in society.
At the heart of the programme lies a centrist view: education that equally values cultural reflection and market relevance.

For our English-language MA programmes, the entry requirement is an accredited undergraduate academic degree (BAhons, BSc, BA) and a furnishing proof of at least B2, preferably higher level of English language proficiency or fluent English skills.
Entrance examination:The content and format requirements for the portfolio will be available on our website from November 2025, under the \'Application \' page of each respective study programme. Please ensure to read the detailed portfolio requirements in the \"Admission Rounds\" section. Portfolios will be reviewed by a committee of our professors, and selected Applicants will be invited for an interview via an email with the exact date of the interview. Interviews are held usually in April.
Entrance type:portfolio + interview
Minimum level of language proficiency (oral):B2
Minimum level of language proficiency (written):B2
Place of examination:online

A university degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree) is a precondition for applying to the programme. Applicants are evaluated based on their portfolio presenting their professional journey, and also on their personal introduction (practical exam). This way, prospective students can be selected on the basis of their talent, abilities and accomplishments to date.
