The main objective of the study programme is to prepare students for tasks connected to the teaching of English as a foreign language and relating pedagogical, research, planning and development activities. Students in the programme familiarize themselves with theories of language acquisition, interdisciplinary approaches to the English language, the development of language skills and learner autonomy, instructor and learner roles , language teaching policy and course design, the teaching of different age groups, the basic principles of language teaching theories and methods, content-based and vocation-oriented language teaching, assessment, inclusive pedagogical environments, literature and contemporary culture in the language classroom, as well as the IT foundations of the teaching profession. Besides their lecture and seminar courses, trainees will also participate in class observations, microteaching and a teaching practice in actual language schools as well so they will be prepared to teach English as a foreign language in Hungary and abroad.
