Main research topics of the multidisciplinary doctoral school:
- bio-inspired and neuromorphic information technology and bionics,
- fundamentally new principles of sensory computing,
- surveillance and navigation,
- molecular and nano-sized sensing and computing,
- realizability studies of electronics and optics,
- human and artificial language technologies,
- artificial understanding and telepresence.

PhD students are offered graduate courses related to their chosen research area in the first 4 semesters. Course selections need to be discussed with the scientific superviser.
At the end of the 4th semester, PhD students have to take a qualifying exam to demonstrate their scientific skills.

1) MSc degree in the relevant study field of the PhD program, the diploma rate must be over 75%.
Applicants must submit the Degree awarded AND the Transcript of all corresponding records. Applicants still doing their MSc should upload, in addition to their transcript, an official certificate of the EXPECTED date of graduation.

2) B2-level English language certificate according to CEFR (IELTS with total score of 6.0, TOEFL with a score of 90 or other).
Exemption: Bachelor's or Master's degree obtained in a full English-language program OR English as mother tongue of the Applicant.

If the application documents and the proposed research topic comply with the minimum entry requirements, applicants are invited to a personal (online) interview.

The admission procedure is organized twice a year, in July and in January. The results of the applicants are ranked on a 100-point scale by the Admission Committee, based on the following criteria:
- Diploma and results of the final exams
- Language skills
- Previous scientific activity
- Personal competence.

Decision on the acceptance, including details of possible financial support, is made by the Board of the Doctoral School.
