The Biodata Analysis postgraduate program is a one-year, 60-credit non-degree online program providing enhanced knowledge and skills in the analysis of large-scale molecular data from biological systems. The specific aim of the program is to equip students with skills in many aspects of high-throughput data analysis, thus preparing them to meet the needs of academia and industry.
The training will emphasise analysis in the R environment, but will also include Python and Java skills. The programme will provide an overview of biostatistics, sequence analysis, bioinformatics aspects of high-throughput genomics, proteomics and transcriptomics, phylogenetics and structural bioinformatics. Besides the compulsory courses, there are optional ones available for specialization.
The program is divided into two semesters of 30 recommended credits concluding with a 12-credit thesis work in the second semester.
The program is fully online with courses accessible through an e-learning system. Students must do substantial individual project work with hands-on help of the lecturers available on demand.
