The Mechanical Engineering Doctoral Program has been working in the frame of the Institute of Technology of the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (earlier Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Szent Istvan University) since 1993. The main topics are engineering and energetics, but numerous multidisciplinary researches are also carried out connected to life and environmental sciences. The Doctoral School provides the possibility of participation in international projects and in cooperation with doctoral schools of Hungarian and foreign universities fulfilling the international standards. The first two years are the training period including courses, research and publications. After a successful complex exam closing the first two years, another two-year long period, the so-called research and dissertation phase starts, which is finished with the dissertation. The number of the PhD students of the school at this moment is 49, and 150 PhD researches have been completed successfully till now.

Based on the uploaded data of the applicant (educational background, transcriptts, diploma topic and result, preliminary research activity, research plan) and on the oral interview with the commeettee of the school, the applicant gets an acceptable, cióonditionally acceptable or not successful status.
