The goal of this program is to give regular courses to students and prepare them for obtaining a scientific degree, and to offer them teaching experience in higher education. The objective is to train computer science and info-communication technology experts with professional knowledge based on solid theoretical background. The Doctoral School of Informatics provides PhD education in four doctoral programs:Information systems,Numeric and symbolic computations,Foundation and methodology of informatics,Informatics teaching methodology.We have many scholarships and research work possibilities for doctoral students: e.g. Stipendium Hungaricum, EIT Digital and EFOP.

The applications are examined by the Admission Board, and the applicants take part in an organized Skype interview or they come for the interview in person. The applicants will be notified of the outcome of the selection in the online application system until the end of July 2020. Admission letters are sent out in the online application system until the end of July 2020. Type of entrance examination: oralPlace of entrance examination: ELTE Faculty of Informatics, 1117 Budapest, Pázmány Péter sétány 1/CEvaluation: The ranking is based on a total evaluation of the academic excellence (based on the submitted documents) and the results of the entrance exam. An entrance committee, which consists of three members, evaluates the applicants during an interview according togeneral professional intelligence,thorough grounding and skills in the chosen branch of science (in the field of the doctoral training program),diploma with university degree and performance during the studies at the university,activity in undergraduate research and other scientific activities,feasibility of the research plan,language skills (an intermediate state-accredited language exam is conditional for the admission).The Admission Committee of the Doctoral School examines the research plan and the submitted documents (e.g. MSc transcript, list of publications). The current topic proposals are available on the website of the Hungarian Doctoral Council. We strongly recommend that the applicant discusses the research plan with the responsible professor before submitting the application.The entrance exam will be organized around the second week of July. The oral exam takes 20 minutes the research plan and the competences of the applicant.
