The aim of the program is to train agricultural biotechnology engineers, who are proficient in the field of biochemistry, microbiology, physiology, traditional and molecular genetics, transgenic breeding, reproduction biology and many more. The program offers two specializations, students can be involved with either plant or animal biotecnology aspects of agricultural biotechnology. Over the 4-semester long course students will be familiarized with the theoretical and practical background of the latest achievements of plant or animal molecular biotechnological sciences.  It is a full-time program where the emphasis is being put on the practices.  Students will acquire all the practical skills which are necessary for laboratory or field works. From the second semester onwards, students are required to carry their own individual scientific work within the scope of a thesis, by joining to research groups working in the field of applied agricultural biotechnology. Graduates will have the know-how of the latest technologies in the field of e.g.: genome editing, micropropagation, assisted reproduction,  animal and plant breeding, embryo and stem cell research. Graduates will be competent to work in agricultural research either in administrative or executive positions, or as specialists of the agricultural production sector and will also be equipped with all the knowledge necessary for continuing their studies in PhD.
