Our Geographer training covers both areas and provides specialized knowledge to help you learn as thoroughly as possible about the complex relationship of the human society and the environment. The Institute of Geography and Environmental Sciences of the University of Eszterházy in Eger provides you with the most up-to-date knowledge and skills in addition to historical sights. The aim is to train such geographers, who can understand the features of geographical processes, and can characterize natural, environmental and social phenomena. We provide practical knowledge to our students by working with geographic information systems, statistical tools, qualitative assessment and survey methods. During their studies our geographer students have the chance to work as experts in their field, both independently and as members of multi-professional teams. Once they finished their studies, our students are prepared to meet the expectations of the XXI. century by sharing and presenting their knowledge and skills.

The admission procedure consits of the following parts: - 20-30 minutes long online interview - evaluation of application documents Online interview: The international office will contact all applicants to set up a suitable time for the online interview. Applicants will be interviewed by appointed staff members from the Department and the international office. Professors will check the applicant’s preliminary knowledge of the chosen study area and motivation. The international office will check the language skills and intercultural competences of the applicant. The admission decision is based on the following results: - result of previous studies (max. 20 points) - CV, motivation letter (max. 20 points) - online interview (max. 60 points)
Minimum admission requirements: 60 points. Those applicants who gain less than 5 points in any section of the admission procedure will be rejected.
