The Institute of Mathematics and Informatics offers a six-semester bachelor degree programme in Computer Science. Students in the programme will learn the principles of software design and development. Topics such as database management, design and analysis of algorithms, computer graphics and the fundamentals of artificial intelligence are also among the mandatory courses. The special focus of the degree programme is programme development for mobiles. On completion of the programme successful students will be IT professionals who, possessing a solid theoretical grounding, are capable of implementing their skills in different areas. Graduates will be able to perform a variety of tasks relating to software development such as software engineering, software testing, web and mobile development, database design and computer networking.Students may choose from 3 specializations: Software Developer Specialization, Database Systems Specialization, Enterprise Resource Planning Specialization.The first one focuses on web and mobile application development. The second one is specialized on database system programming, such as PL/SQL. The third one teaches ERP systems, such as SAP.Career Options: software engineering is one of the most in demand professional fields in Europe therefore there is a real need for competent and well trained specialists. The graduates will be able to work in application and web development, database design and management and design and maintenance of computer networks.

The admission procedure consits of the following parts: - 20-30 minutes long online interview - evaluation of application documents Online interview: The international office will contact all applicants to set up a suitable time for the online interview. Applicants will be interviewed by appointed staff members from the Department and the international office. Professors will check the applicant’s preliminary knowledge of the chosen study area and motivation. The international office will check the language skills and intercultural competences of the applicant. The admission decision is based on the following results: - result of previous studies (max. 20 points) - CV, motivation letter (max. 20 points) - online interview (max. 60 points)
Minimum admission requirements: 60 points. Those applicants who gain less than 5 points in any section of the admission procedure will be rejected.
