Linguistics: We are especially interested in syntax, morphology, semantics, and pragmatics; as well as in the more interdisciplinary fields of computational linguistics, discourse analysis, first and second language acquisition, and sociolinguistics. With a firm devotion to linguistic theory, we also welcome and encourage experimental and corpus-driven approaches to the study of language; and though we focus on English, we are also open to other languages of the world.
Literature and Culture:The applicants of the program may choose from the following research areas: British studies, (North) American studies, Canadian studies, Australian studies, literary and cultural studies, American, British, Australian history, comparative literature, film studies, media studies, gender studies, postcolonial studies.
The instructional part of this doctoral program provides students with the theoretical and historical background as well as with analytical skill necessary for the completion of their dissertation, in the disciplines and fields specified above.

The professional evaluation of the educational materials (degree, transcripts, results) and the research topic is the task of the relevant Doctoral School. This evaluation is followed by an interview with one of the professors of the Faculty, which aims to check the applicant\\\'s level of motivation, language skills and professional knowledge. (In case of a missing certificate about the English language proficiency we conduct an interview in order to check the applicant’s English language skills.)
